Team Project: Completed during a school project course.

Objective: Design and prototype an innovative 3C within the project timeframe.

Platforms: PC prototype (Unity 6 2D)

My Role:

  -  Worked as Game Designer in a team of 4 (1 other Game Designer and 2 programmers).

  -  Co-designed the entire 3C mechanics and systems with my Game Design partner.

  -  Created a comprehensive Game Design Document (GDD) detailing all gameplay mechanics.

  -  Managed programmer follow-up and coordinated development progress.

  -  Conducted extensive bug testing and quality assurance.

  -  Handled Zoo testing (playtesting sessions) to validate design decisions.

  -  Led the final polish phase, implementing sounds, VFX, and other finishing touches.

  -  Ensured seamless communication between design and programming teams.

Key Takeaway:

  -  An incredibly enriching experience in collaborative game design.

  -  Valuable experience in cross-disciplinary team management and design iteration.

Game Design:
In close collaboration with my partner Quentin TONNELIER, we first listed a number of innovative 3C ideas. Then, based on our enthusiasm, the originality of the idea, and also the scope relative to the allotted time, as well as the programmers' capabilities, we chose our concept.
Next, we created the most exhaustive and granular GDD possible, with diagrams, precisely describing all implementation and design aspects.
This document serves as both technical documentation and reference for the programmers, who can then progress using the doc as their guide.
Once the document was completed, we kept it updated for the programmers, playtested the programmers' versions, hunted bugs, did level design, and at the end of the project, polished the game.
We used a Notion to list our original ideas, then to track the project's progress.
We also had an FSO on Excel.
