In the context of a school project at ISART Digital, I created in collaboration with Kensly THESEE a design for a potential DLC of Lethal Company.
Everything is stored in a Notion page.
We created 3 enemies, about ten items, a completely new game mode, and weather events.

With Figma, we created many diagrams, and each page on the Notion functions as a complete GDD for the feature.

Game Design : Ennemies

For the enemies, we first broke down using the game's wiki what elements the enemies were composed of.
Then, starting from an idea or inspiration, we design the enemy, its abilities and behavior, in the form of a state machine, its specificities, and also the interactions between existing objects and enemies.
We also used many Excel spreadsheets for everything related to spawn chance percentages, and also for other data, such as stun time for example.

All of this, with numerous diagrams to illustrate how the enemy works.

Game Design: Items

We had the same way of working for items as what we did for enemies. Starting from an idea, we tried to create an item design while respecting the original design of the game, and trying to offer a new experience for the player.
Some objects were also created for the game mode.
As with enemies, we broke down what an object was using the wiki and our knowledge of the game, before transcribing this into our design, with Figma diagrams and Excel spreadsheets.
Game Design: Game Mode

For the game mode, we had several iterations, because we were looking for something really original, without distorting the base game too much and keeping a maximum of mechanics.
So we sought to add victory mechanics, something not present in the base game, which is meant to be infinite and exponential. We also twisted many existing game mechanics, in order to create an experience quite different from the original game, but while still having many similarities with the base game: This way, players are not completely lost and find many existing mechanics.
